Swim Club 2025
In so many ways the Swim Club has many of the same foundations as our Eco Youth Circle programme:
consistency, quality time in nature, a shared group of people wanting to do the same thing and encouraging one another.
This makes it even more special to be hosting it and being the beneficiary this year.
What a beautiful five days!
– Layla from Cultural Connections
This year we hosted our 5th annual Swim Club, a five-day celebration of early morning swims in the Western Cape in support of Cultural Connections.
Over the course of five invigorating mornings, 440 swimmers showed up at sunrise, come rain, wind or shine, to start their days with a refreshing dip in the ocean. Friends, families, and familiar faces gathered on the sand, sharing the quiet energy that comes with early mornings by the sea, all in aid of a meaningful cause.
Those who completed the five-day challenge were rewarded with a custom Mungo Swim Club Towel, specially woven for Swim Club 2025 – a keepsake marking both commitment and community.
Together we raised R123 000 for Cultural Connections!
All proceeds from this year’s Swim Club went to Cultural Connections, serving as seed funding for the launch of an Eco Youth Circle at KuCoNa: a new community centre in The Crags, built through our ongoing CSR initiative, MOVE.
The Eco Youth Circle is a year-long programme that brings young people together in a safe, creative space to learn about the environment, explore their potential, and connect with their community. Guided by local facilitators, participants take part in workshops, discussions, and nature-based experiences designed to build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper relationship with the natural world.
By taking part in Swim Club 2025, our swimmers helped make this possible, turning early morning swims into lasting impact.
