Two fibres, woven as one.
Union cloth is made by combining two different fibres in the construction of a single cloth. Ours pairs a natural, undyed certified organic cotton warp with a yarn-dyed Italian-spun linen weft.
The combination brings together the softness of cotton with the breathability and crisp character of linen. Soft from the first wash, the cloth has a gently textured handle, while the undyed cotton showing through the coloured linen creates a subtle mélange effect and natural depth of colour.
The addition of cotton also makes the cloth more crease resistant and easier to iron. Durable, breathable and comfortable against the skin.
Woven, cut and sewn at the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay.
